Our portfolio on components addressing thermal management, temperature and pressure control, power densities and service improve the safety, reliability and range of electric vehicles. Our DIAvent® component, for example, offers intelligent pressure management solutions for large batteries in electric and hybrid vehicles. Specially developed heat shields for lithium-ion battery systems prevent the heat from “propagating” to neighboring cells when cells malfunction. The patented nonwovens they contain reliably ensure bi-directional pressure compensation even under extreme conditions.

Engines

Hybrid systems and e-drives are all well and good, but for the time being, powerful, low-emission and fuel-efficient combustion engines continue to set the pace in the automotive field. Friction-minimized engine seals point the way forward for conventional drive technology. Freudenberg Sealing Technologies’ Low Emission Sealing Solutions (LESS) help to optimize combustion, reduce consumption and CO2 emissions and thus ensure our future mobility while simultaneously working to reduce the impact on our environment. They meet the automotive manufacturers’ requirements; the drivers’ wishes and the legislative provisions in equal measure.
A few examples: among the emission-reducing engine seals, the Energy Saving Simmerring® (ESS) has become a synonym for high performance with low friction. The gas-lubricated Levitex® crankshaft seal has been developed to realize a nearly frictionless sealing solution for engines. And when it comes to the optimization of variable valve control, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, with its quantum seals, has in the truest sense of the word made a real quantum leap forward.

Cooling Cycle Tubes #CC1
Our cooling cycle tubes offer better freedom of design via ”customized” tubes for complex geometries, when compared to a metal design, that also offers weight reduction. The acoustics of this material are also better, while flow resistance is reduced due to the smooth inner surface. Additional functions such as clips, sensors and cables can also be integrated. These also pair well with our plugs and seals or plugs and tube seals. Lastly, our parts are not susceptible to corrosion and offer higher tolerance due to the flexible nature of the product.
