Sealing and drive shaft bellows for automotive applications

Boots for automotive applications

Sealing and CVJ boots for automotive applications – solutions for OEMs and suppliers

Automotive electric drivetrain assembly with independent rear suspension system, featuring electric motor, transmission gearbox, lithium-ion battery control unit, disc brakes, coilover shock absorbers, control arms, and CV axles

What are the key requirements for protective boots in modern chassis and steering systems?

Our boots for automotive applications offer a wide variety of dimensions and geometries – ideal for OEMs and suppliers who need customized solutions for complex requirements in chassis and steering systems.

Sealing boots are available as single- or double-convolution boots, with or without reinforcement and with clamping elements on one or both connection areas. This enables our automotive boots to optimally meet different requirements for sealing performance, flexibility and assembly.

Bellows for commercial vehicles – Technical solutions for demanding applications

In commercial vehicles such as trucks and buses, bellows are used as technical protective systems – particularly on drive shafts and tail lifts. They protect mechanically stressed areas from dirt, moisture and environmental influences, ensuring the long-term functionality of moving components.

Especially on tail lifts, bellows provide reliable sealing and guidance of the lifting mechanism. They prevent foreign objects from entering the hydraulic or electrical systems and significantly reduce maintenance requirements.

Our solutions offer:

  • High material resistance to UV radiation, temperature and chemicals
  • Flexible geometries for complex movement sequences
  • Compact designs for tight installation spaces
  • Durability and low maintenance for continuous use in logistics and passenger transport

Ideal for OEMs and system suppliers who rely on robust and cost-efficient components for demanding operating conditions.

Sealing boot for ball stud joints

Sealing boots reliably protect ball joints in tie rods of steering and suspension systems from environmental influences and prevent lubricant leakage. They are manufactured as single- or double convolution sealing boots made of CR and are available with vulcanized in or separately mounted clamping elements made of metal or plastic on one or both connection areas.

Reinforced sealing boots prevent corrosion on integrated L rings/snap rings and protect the boot from damage caused by cutting clamp or snap rings.

Constant Velocity Joint boots

CV joint boots made of TPE are used on the front-wheel or rear-wheel drives of vehicles, construction machinery and commercial vehicles. They ensure continuous lubrication of the joints and provide durable sealing against grease leakage and the ingress of dirt.

For joints with a non‑circular boot seat, the tripod version is available, optionally with or without an additional adapter. TPE offers high elasticity, abrasion resistance and media resistance – ideal for demanding operating conditions.

TPE (thermoplastic elastomers)

Material advantages of TPE compared to rubber

TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) offers a long service life thanks to superior compression stability and speed resistance compared to conventional rubber bellows. In addition, TPE provides excellent ozone resistance, good media resistance and high thermal durability.

Therefore, TPE is ideal for applications with high dynamic loads or varying environmental conditions.

Our solution for small series in automotive and industrial applications

Our modular TPE bellows are based on an intelligent construction kit system that allows high flexibility in configuration. Thanks to interchangeable tool inserts, the bellows can be individually customized — both in production length (85–200 mm) and in connection diameter (in graduated sizes: Ø50, Ø63, Ø80, Ø100 and Ø125).

The design of the connection areas can also be adapted as needed to ensure optimal integration into the respective application.
