For more than seventeen years, the International Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) has been one of the most important events specializing in innovative powertrains. It is the meeting place for battery engineers from leading automakers and suppliers, and the latest technology trends are often discussed for the first time here.
A global audience of industry experts focuses on development trends and ground-breaking technologies while presenting market analyses for the coming year. Last year’s edition was the largest-ever AABC event with more than 1,000 participants from 35 countries.
As the leading specialist in sealing technologies, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) will naturally take part in the industry gathering. FST, a partner in the development of demanding applications and an expert on the market, has pressed ahead with its own innovations for electric mobility in recent years. XALT Energy will be a co-exhibitor with FST: In February 2018, FST acquired a minority stake in the U.S. company. Among other things, XALT Energy produces large-scale lithium ion battery cells, modules and systems for buses, heavy-duty commercial vehicles and ships. Freudenberg Performance Materials will also be featured at the same stand.
At AABC, FST’s interests revolve around tailored sealing solutions for batteries and fuel cells. The sealing specialist is pursuing the pinnacle of electrified powertrain technology: to link battery and fuel cell technologies and systems and benefit from the strengths of both technologies. The goal is to provide complete solutions involving the two technologies from a single source.
