Dr. Ruth Bieringer to Become President of the German Chemical Society (GDCh)
On January 1, 2026, Dr. Ruth Bieringer, Vice President Technology & Innovation – Material Technology at Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, takes over as president of the German Chemical Society (GDCh). During her two-year term, she would especially like to intensify the dialogue with political decision-makers and promote fact-based scientific information.
“Humanity is facing profound social and scientific challenges whose solutions demand that we, as scientists, play a key role,” Bieringer said. Her goal is to strengthen the role of GDCh as a reliable, competent partner to policymakers and society and to make the public aware of the chemical industry’s contribution to the management of global challenges.
