White, blue and black – The new Hygienic Usit® trio
In response to customer demand, we have expanded our portfolio of Hygienic Usit® rings. Along with black EPDM 291, the Hygienic Usit® is now available to you in white EPDM 253815 and blue EPDM 217676. Numerous dimensions will shortly be available from stock. The chemical stability of the EPDM trio is insufficient for some applications. For these cases, we offer you a variant made of the blue universal material Fluoroprene® XP 41.

The fact that the Hygienic Usit® allows hygienic screw connections in open and closed processes is not new. What is new is that there are now two additional versions of the EPDM material. The three EPDM materials offer tremendous resistance to CIP/SIP cleaning media, steam and hot water. They are also approved for direct contact with foods and pharmaceuticals. There is no difference between the three versions in price. In many companies, blue seals are in demand due to their greater distinguishability from other components. White EPDM is primarily a popular alternative in the pharmaceutical industry. For more demanding applications, we offer you an additional blue version made of the universal material Fluoroprene® XP 41. This fluorinated material displays even better resistance to media and extreme temperatures. Furthermore, it reduces the risk of flavor transfer. In an extractables study, all four materials barely showed detectable TOC (Total Organic Carbon) values and soluble components in comparison to competitive materials. Whatever the material, the elastomer sealing bead ensures a dead-space-free seal. Only this compression prevents the formation of microbes and corrosion.
The new Hygienic Usit® portfolio thus covers all your needs. The various colors give you significantly more freedom to make adjustments to your individual system.
