Electric applications are the number one answer in many industries on the way to achieving the energy transition. So will the drive world also become completely electric? Probably not that quickly – this is countered by a wide range of drive variants. In addition, many companies are pursuing multi-track drive strategies in order to be well positioned for the future. The current status of developments and other exciting topics from the industry will be the focus of Dritev in Baden-Baden, Germany. Experts will meet at one of the world’s largest automotive conventions for the 23rd time to discuss what is currently important in the series development of powertrains and transmissions, either in direct exchanges or in more than 60 technical presentations.

At Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, the topics of particular interest in this area are currently heat shields, the battery pressure equalization valve DIAvent and general battery applications. The heat shields developed especially for lithium-ion battery systems prevent heat from spreading to neighboring cells in the event of damage. In DIAvent, patented nonwovens reliably ensure multifunctional battery pressure equalization. The innovative triad is rounded off by the electrically conductive nonwoven eCON: It diverts bearing currents and thus possible electrical erosion past the bearing. Noise, vibrations and, in extreme cases, bearing failure are thus a thing of the past.
